We have a secret weapon to make your colour match flawless. Our in-house hair lab means we have hair to match any client that walks through our door there and then! This sets us apart from other salons and enables us to achieve better results for our clients, no matter what colour hair you have.
Tape Extensions
Tape hair extensions are the most commonly used hair extension method. The reason for this is mostly their versatility. Tape hair extensions are generally suitable for most hair types and can work in a variety of different ways, whether it be for filling in breakage on sides or filling out and adding length to a short blunt haircut.
The bonds are only 4cm wide and sit very flat with the hair. This means they are easily able to be styled as you would with your natural hair and wear them up in a sleek high ponytail without fear of them showing through.
The tape hair extensions are applied by placing a section of your own hair between a top and bottom tape thus creating what we refer to as a “sandwich”. The adhesive bonds to your natural hair over the next 72 hours post installation and will then stay in your hair for the next 6 weeks.
Invisi Tape Extensions
Invisible tapes often referred to as ‘invisi’ tapes are are exactly the same quality hair as our tape extensions. The only difference is traditional tapes are machine made, which means the bond of the extensions at the top of the hair piece is coated with a clear plastic.
Invisi tapes are hand sewn and the hair has been injected into the end of the bond mimicking the look of natural hair growth from the scalp. Often the invisible extensions can be made more discreet by customising the colour to match your exact shade. This also means that they can be placed slightly closer to the hairline and part line.
The invisible tapes are perfect for a custom balayage match where the top of the extension may need to coloured for bespoke effect.
Weft Extensions
Wefts are another method that is gaining popularity fast. The beaded weft method works by creating a “track” on a section of your natural hair with a silicone lined bead. Your hair is threaded through the bead and clamped and the weft is sewn over the top. The amount of hair put into the bead is enough to support the weight of the weft and the bead works essentially as a stopper to give the thread something to sit on.
A beaded weft can take a bit longer to install. Generally we allow anywhere from 1-3 hours for the first application.
Beaded weft is also quite a versatile method, a small amount of hair can be used in either 1 or 2 rows to add more fullness to finer hair types, or a larger amount of hair can be used in 4-5 rows to give maximum fullness and length.
